New Tech at MPL

For Children

Saturday, March 18 at 2 pm, Main Library

Put your own twist on classic fairy tales. This creative writing program is designed to help children think outside the box by taking everyday fairy tales and rewriting them into something funny, unique, and off the wall!

Begins Thursday, April 6 at 6:30 pm, Sherwood Branch

Practicing mindfulness may increase children’s ability to focus, self-regulate, and overall well-being. Join us for a calming storytime that incorporates simple poses, movements, and mindfulness practices in easy ways.

April is National Poetry Month! Each week, we will learn about a different type of poetry. Children 8-12 will have a chance to create their own poems, and mad libs, as well as participate in fun-related activities.

For Teens

We're honoured to work with Grandmother’s Voice to be a part of the 101 Deweguns...A Living Hearts Legacy. During this workshop, teens will have the opportunity to participate in assembling and designing Drums, strykers, and Drum bags that will travel all across Canada. Register to be a part of this project that will bring healing, Truth and Reconciliation through the arts.

In this safe space conversation circle, guest speaker Zoe Carey (she/her) will talk about trans support and awareness, why our thoughts or fears are valid, and how we can embrace the trans joy to change the stigmas around gender identity. All are welcome.
