An Evening with Waubgeshig Rice

Our annual One Book, One Milton event is right around the corner! Author and journalist Waubgeshig Rice will be at the First Ontario Arts Centre on November 20 to discuss his novel, Moon of the Turning Leaves, with host Sherry Saevil.

Indigenous Storytime with The Adventures of Jay and Gizmo

Join author Kristi White as she shares her series, The Adventures of Jay and Gizmo. The books take readers on adventures with Jay, a young Indigenous boy, and his cat friend, Gizmo, while providing lessons about Indigenous people, language, culture, traditions, and celebrations. Following the reading, there will be a dance demonstration and discussion about traditional regalia.

MPL’s annual short story contest is back! Students from grades 6 - 12 are invited to submit their short stories of 1500 words maximum, on any topic of their choosing to our panel of judges. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in 2 age groups: Grades 6 - 8 and Grades 9 - 12.
