Be Inspired. Exciting Programs at MPL. Exciting Programs at MPL!
Hi [First Name],
A Message from Mark Williams
Hi everyone,
As the year comes to a close, we’re presented with the opportunity to reflect on the past year, one in which we continued to focus on meeting the needs of you, our patrons, both in-branch and online. We were thrilled to welcome more faces back to our branches and to see the return of our in-person programming being met with such enthusiasm.
The holiday season brings us together with family and friends, and we have lots on offer for you this month, to share with your loved ones. Join Jerzy Kaplanek and Kevin Day as they present improvised selections for violin and piano that inspire them during the holiday season in our December Laurier Milton Lecture. And why not take advantage of our Sports Equipment lending programme or Park Pass programme available for use at both Conservation Halton and Ontario Parks?

I am delighted to share that we will be continuing our ongoing partnership with MCRC with our ‘Fill-a-Crib’ campaign following another successful ‘Food for Fines’ campaign and we welcome all of our patrons to participate through to 13th January in support of the most vulnerable in our community. More details can be found below.

Looking forward to the New Year, we are excited to continue to elevate the patron experience and deliver customer service excellence. We have welcomed some new faces to the MPL Hive, including Lakhdeep Dhaliwal, our first-ever Chief Diversity Officer and Chris Dorscht MPL’s first Director of Customer Experience. At the branch level, we also have two new branch managers, Amrit Gill at Sherwood and Furrukh Inayat at Beaty. We are also very excited at the impending re-launch of our website, focussing on improving the user experience which will include a single sign-on and federated results. Watch this space for more details and other exciting initiatives launching in 2023.

On behalf of Milton Public Library, I wish you all a Happy and Healthy Holiday season.

Thanks,

Mark Williams, Chief Librarian
