Be Inspired. What's New at MPL. Thursday, September 29, 2022
A Message from Mark Williams
Hi everyone,
Autumn has officially arrived at MPL. Leaves are starting to change colour, cooler weather is in the air, students have returned to their studies and we are excited to be offering a robust season of programming, resources and services to our patrons.
This month we celebrate Canadian Public Library month, honouring the valuable role libraries play in welcoming Canadians to read, learn, create and connect. This month marks our fourth year supporting the Milton Community Resource Centre’s Infant Food Bank through our Food for Fines campaign celebrating Ontario Public Library Week. From 16th October to 5th November, bring in non-perishable items, diapers or baby formula to any MPL branch and in exchange, we’ll waive your fines for overdue library materials.

Autumn is a time of harvest and we are pleased to announce that Beaty honey will be back soon! Harvested from our on-site hives by our friends at Humble Bee, pots of our very own Beaty honey will soon be available for purchase at Beaty branch while supplies last. Watch this space for more details.

This month we also celebrate Diwali with special storytime, curated book collections and an opportunity to share stories. In the spirit of connectedness, we invite you to share your Diwali story with us. Read on to learn more!

Don’t miss out on autumn programme registration, exciting author talks such as Ann Cleeves, a brand new season of the Laurier Milton Lecture Series, and much more.

Thanks,

Mark Williams, Chief Librarian
